1. In order to avoid replicating security codes within a short period due to the volume and potential demand for issuing call (put) warrants, TWSE has amended the security code assignment method for newly listed (and over-the-counter) warrants, effective from May 17, 2010. The new method, which will see current warrant security codes changing from 5 digits to 6 digits, will not affect the computer format of existing security codes. Details of the new method are as follows:

i. Listed Warrants:

For call warrants of domestic securities or indices, warrant security code assignments will start from 030001.

For put warrants of domestic securities or indices, the 6th digit of the warrant security code will remain as “P”, and the code assignments will start from 03001P.

ii. Over-the-Counter Warrants

For call warrants of domestic securities or indices, warrant security code assignments will start from 700001.

For put warrants of domestic securities or indices, the 6th digit of the warrant security code will remain as “P”, and the code assignments will start from 70001P.

2. Existing listed (and over-the-counter) call (put) warrant security codes will remain unchanged.
