Strong Business Growth in Asia Drives Progress Software’s Expansion in the Region

Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), a leading software provider that enables companies to be operationally responsive, announced its continued commitment to broadening its commercial activities in Asia with the placement of its regional headquarters in centrally-located Singapore. From this strategic location, a newly appointed management team will be responsible for managing a single integrated and customer-focused sales, services, and support organization for all channels across Asia Pacific and Japan.

Paul Henaghan, who has more than 20 years experience in the IT industry including senior management roles at a number of large enterprise software companies, is Vice President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific and Japan, for Progress Software.

Henaghan noted: “Progress has been present in Asia Pacific for more than ten years and is well represented in fifteen countries across the region. This region continues to experience a generally stronger run of economic growth compared to other regions around the world and we believe we are well-positioned to take advantage of this. We are optimistic about the potential to grow our business alongside our customers. By locating our regional headquarters in Singapore, we are at the right place at the right time to deliver market leading enterprise solutions.”

For more than a decade, Progress Software’s strategy has been founded on delivering best-in-class products and technologies, bringing excellent customer service and support in expanding, new markets. Progress Software’s strategy in 2010 changed with the launch of the Progress® Responsive Process Management (RPM) suite, a next generation business solution that enables enterprises to achieve a higher level of business performance than previously possible. Progress Software is the only company with the ability today to deliver the unique Progress RPMTM suite, which unifies comprehensive visibility, Business Event Processing (BEP) and Business Process Management (BPM) capabilities on a single platform.

Henaghan has a newly appointed leadership team comprising Bryan O’Neill, Regional Vice President for Asia, Guhan Periasamy, Senior Director of Solutions, Hui Chun Man, Director of Financial Services Institute (FSI) Solutions, and Bhupesh Lall, Director of Marketing for Asia Pacific and Japan. The leadership team bolsters the presence of Progress Software in the region.

O’Neill brings a wealth of experience in strategic business development focusing on enterprise software solutions for the banking industry. Through an expanded team, O’Neill will be strengthening relationships with enterprise customers, while expanding and enabling the partner eco-system to drive greater market coverage for Progress solutions.

Periasamy leads the technical and industry solutions team across the Asia Pacific and Japan region, working closely with customers to deliver global industry best practices, and provide solutions from concept to delivery.

Henaghan continued: “We are proud of our team of longstanding employees and their commitment to the growing Asia Pacific region and our customers, which ensures we will maintain our reputation as the technology partner of choice for Asia based companies. Customers nowadays are very discerning, and expect solutions to be perfectly responsive to their unique demands. Having people like O’Neill, Periasamy, Man Hui and Lall ensures that we have our ears and eyes focused on them all the time.”

Marking its 30th year anniversary, Progress Software remains committed to helping companies achieve operational responsiveness so they can improve revenues and customer satisfaction, increase productivity and efficiency, and reduce risk.
