SGX Hosts Chief Regulatory Officers Conference
Singapore Exchange (SGX) is delighted to host the Chief Regulatory Officers (CRO) Conference on 1 and 2 Dec 2011. This annual conference provides a meeting point for regulation and policy makers from exchanges and self-regulatory organizations worldwide.
The CRO Conference affords a crucial face-to-face opportunity for market regulators from around the world to share their experiences and exchange ideas on current regulatory challenges as well as those which are anticipated. To facilitate the discussions, SGX has arranged a programme of talks and panel discussions. The two-day sessions cover a wide and comprehensive range of current issues including
prudential standards and capital requirements for central clearing counterparties, cross-border regulation and cooperation, market structure changes and education of investors.
Mr Magnus Bocker Chief Executive of SGX delivered the Conference’s welcome address this morning.
Ms Teo Swee Lian, Deputy Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, also spoke on the direction of regulation for central counterparty clearing of over-the-counter products and the implications for industry participants.
‘Regulators seek to improve the robustness of their financial systems and respond to rapid changes in market structure and technology. SGX is honoured to host the CRO Conference and provide a platform to share best practices,’ said Ms Yeo Lian Sim, Chief Regulatory Officer, SGX.
