İstanbul Menkul Kıymetler Borsası (IMKB) and Singapore Exchange (“SGX”) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding September 6, to foster mutual cooperation towards the development of both exchanges and their respective markets.
The MOU aims to foster closer collaboration in areas such as promoting investment opportunities for market participants on both markets, as well as sharing of knowledge, information and best practices.
Mr. İbrahim M. Turhan, İMKB Chairman & CEO, said, “We are very pleased with this alliance and hope that it will be the first step of a journey that can carry us towards a closer cooperation. In addition to opening the gates of a distant market for the investors in both countries, I believe that this MoU will allow the two exchanges to learn from each other in terms of technology”.
“We look forward to developing a mutually beneficial partnership with IMKB and to support Turkish companies and market participants in tapping into the Singapore capital market. As the Asian Gateway, SGX supports global investors who seek to expand their presence in Asia and beyond,” said Mr Chew Sutat, Executive Vice President, Singapore Exchange.
