ICAP Adds Hong Kong LME Desk
ICAP plc, the world’s premier interdealer broker, announced November 16 it has expanded its base metals broking business with the addition of an LME desk in Hong Kong. ICAP also announced it has hired Jason Dobson to join the desk in Hong Kong.
Jason has over 11 years experience as a senior metals trader and joins ICAP from Citigroup. Prior to this he was at ANZ.
ICAP began broking London Metal Exchange (LME) base metals in January 2009, with a Category Two membership of the LME and is now a leading broker in futures and options on LME metals contracts. The business has grown rapidly and now has a global team of about 15.
Robert Rees, Global Head of Base Metals at ICAP said: “ICAP now offers its clients a seamless 24 hour execution service in base metals through hubs based in New York, London and Hong Kong. Jason brings a great deal of experience to our brokerage model and the launch of our Hong Kong based desk further recognises the importance of the region to our business.”
