Gretail Securities Market and Bursa Malaysia Sign MOU to Establish Co-Operative Opportunities
Bursa Malaysia Berhad (Bursa Malaysia) and GreTai Securities Market, an organisation in charge of securities exchange and over-the-counter (OTC) business supervision in Taiwan, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to embark on a collaborative effort to further develop the capital markets in both countries.
Under the terms of the MOU, both the Taiwanese and Malaysian exchanges respectively, will embark on a long term co-operation initiative to develop communication channels between both organisations to facilitate enhanced information sharing capabilities. Additionally, the MOU also lays the foundation for both Bursa Malaysia and GreTai Securities Market to explore collaboration initiatives to benefit the capital markets in both our countries.
Dato’ Yusli Mohamed Yusoff, Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia said that the Exchange is pleased to be cooperating with GreTai Securities Market. “I believe that in keeping up with the challenges in the market today, it is important for us to work closely with our peers, especially those from the Asian region.”
“I hope this partnership will lead to an active exchange of ideas and information aimed at addressing industry issues and challenges. At the same time, we will be able to learn from each others’ experiences in further developing human capital as well as technological competencies,” Dato’ Yusli said.
