It was a year of consolidation, derivatives and regulations wasn’t it? Yes, Abenomics did put some kick into Japan’s cash market Japan but it would be safe to say characterize this as a rising tide rather than a Tsunami.

The JPX group saw its technology platfomrs merge, the LME became part of the HKEx while HKMEx folded and ICE a small player in Asia’s energy market bought SMX for a song.

The derivatives space saw the affore mentioned activites but there were new contracts, old one’s grew and OTC was a focus of many of the exchanges.

And we are all warn out from the regulatory burden particularyl at the global and extra-territorial level but ASIC tweaked its MIR
